SUCTION EXCAVATORS - THE PNEUMATIC EXCAVATION  
 

Pneumatic Excavation Phases
 
The covering is cut with classical pneumatic tools supplied with the fitting. Fig 1

Earth is then shattered and uncompacted using the disruptive lance and Venturi lance that replace worker pick and shovel. Fig 2

Excavation material, by aspiration, is removed via suction pipe, which replaces worker blade, is accumulated in a storage tank while the air is put again into atmosphere. Fig3

According to the principle of pneumatic transport, products to be transported, placed in suspension in the air, are blown and aspirated.

Maintaining a sufficient speed in the circuit is therefore necessary to avoid any deposit of material during transport.

Components for Pneumatic Transport

Main components of an installation of pneumatic transport are generally the following:
 

  • An air generator
  • A heat or electric motor drives a fan
  • A booster which creates airflow
  • A transport carrier of the product: as aspiration begins, material to be transported starts to be removed toward its destination inside of a pipeline
  • An extraction system of product from air: products are collected in a storage dump body, while air is put again into atmosphere
